I have decided to create an otherworldly character, so I came up with an alien from the planet Jupiter. Even though I don't have experience drawing or sketching, I ended up sketching a slim looking alien, with a big mouth, claw-like hands, and a weird looking head that resembles a fire like shape. With the design that I ended up with, I feel like I can give my character enough complexity for the selfies to have enough variety and for my character to be portrayed in various ways, places, and performing different activities. Even though I have no previous Photoshop or Illustrator skills, I am excited to see what I can create with these powerful tools. While doing the Photoshop Pop-Quiz, I already had my creativity flowing for this project with different ideas and brainstorming. With the personality quiz, I was able to create a character with a deep backstory: An alien from Jupiter called Johnny Strife that is seeking to explore Earth and is excited to experience it as much as possible. This is going to be the main focus for my faux selfies, my character in different settings performing different "human" activities, maybe including different characters mentioned in the Personality Quiz, or maybe including a picture of him in his home planet. Also, I plan to give my character different emotions throughout this selfies while he performs said activities. Even though his facial structure may not be able to convey much emption, I plan to use his eye color and body positions as an indicator of what he's thinking. As mentioned in the Personality Quiz, he changes his eye color depending on the mood he is in, so I am planning to use this as a recurring important feature throughout these selfies. In the images below, I included my sketch, some images of already existing characters that some features of my sketched character made me think of, some examples of how I want some of my images to look, and lastly some activities that I think would be interesting to see my character perform.
