Brainstorm Blog #3

For this animation, we are supposed to bring the viewer into a "different world". I am not sure about how I am going to achieve this yet, but I am planning on making it "dream-like". I don't think this was in one of the examples that we were shown during class, so I think it would be simple yet very interesting. Not only this, but making a dream-like scenario leaves room for anything to happen, since there is no laws or rules that I should follow. I was thinking of recording a couple of live action scenes of the main character going inside of his house after a day of classes, to then go into his room and into bed, where he falls asleep and the dream scenario in animation begins. I was thinking of having a similar style to how South Park draws and animates their characters. For this, I will draw a character that uses this style, and maybe also has a similar voice to them. Throughout it, I also want to transition somehow into more abstract shapes type of animation as the dream keeps progressing. For this transition, I was thinking that the character should be in a pitch black area, where he explores for a while and finds a bottle saying: "Do not drink", which of course he drinks and everything inside the dream goes crazy. Although I wanted to include music into this, it is not allowed for us to do so. However, I do plan to be sound editing this with a variety of sound effects that would just add a lot to the animation.

I attached images that kind of describe what I want to do, I also attached a sketched story board of how everything is going to happen.
